RGO is seeking a Designer to join our Workplace Strategies team and provide accurate, functional and creative solutions to our customer needs. The successful candidate will exceed the expectations of our customers as part of a collaborative team.


 Design Process with Customer

  • Create working drawings that accurately reflect the needs and desires of our customers, as well as renderings and finishes
  • Assist in determining customer needs and develop recommendations for customers as assigned
  • Work under the direction of the Workplace Strategies Team Lead and/or an Intermediate Designer for scheduling and prioritizing of various projects and job requirements
  • Conduct required site verification and measurements
  • Assist in the development and presentation of colour/finish boards and selections
  • Attend client planning meeting with an Intermediate Designer and/or Workplace Strategies Team Lead

Post-sale Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and detailed installation drawings including CET drawings, spec sheets and finishes based on the Install Checklist
  • Provide all available order specific detail including product specifications (as capable)
  • Contribute to Job Jacket information collection
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer/drawing files
  • Develops product SIF; double checks spec against plan

Standard Expectations

  • Participate in on-going training and knowledge opportunities as available
  • Identify and propose process improvement opportunities
  • Other responsibilities as required and assigned
  • Ensure that the Company safety policy is adhered to regarding identification and prevention of unsafe working conditions both in the office and at off-site locations


  • Technical diploma in Architecture or Interior Design plus up to two years of related experience
  • Excellent skills using AutoCAD, Revit, or related design software
  • Experience with space planning and architectural wall products is an asset
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
  • Training in CET basic and Advanced as well as Steelcase BPM will be provided by RGO (Incumbents must be able to travel to the USA to participate in the training)
  • Commitment to ongoing education and career development is essential
  • Positive optimistic approach, self-motivated, action-oriented, able to overcome obstacles, able to complete tasks with the capacity to learn new information and skills
  • Excellent customer service, analytical, organizational and technical skills
  • Detail and process-oriented
  • Able to read architectural drawings and specifications
  • Willing to actively and enthusiastically participate in client meetings
  • Requires a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence. May drive company vehicles upon completion of required driver training, however the availability of and willingness to use a personal vehicle to drive to offsite meetings is an asset. (Mileage paid by RGO.)
